Access is well known and offers an easy-to-use database for managing and sharing data.
MS Access
brings not only the traditional broad range of easy data management
tools. In addition, it integrates very well with the Web based
applications. It is easier for
sharing data across a variety of platforms and user levels. Its
ease of-use enhance the
productivity tremendously. Access is well suited for small data management needs
and comes readily available in every computer with the Windows
operating system. However, for larger more robust data management
needs you are better off going with a Relational Database Management
System like Ms SQL 2005, Oracle or Visual FoxPro.

Ms Access has a great flexibility.
Microsoft Access® has a great flexibility, and added power with its
sophisticated features, such as table linking, relationships, queries and
SQL support, forms, reporting capabilities, macros and its built in
programming language; VBA (Visual Basic for Applications). Also it
has a powerful engine to handle network installations, password protection
and multi-level user permissions.
|
Supported on most Web hosting
Ms Access is also supported on most Web hosting services if you need
your database to be setup for the Web.

Relational database management
Microsoft Office Access, previously known as Microsoft Access, is a
relational database management system from Microsoft which combines
the relational Microsoft Jet Database Engine with a graphical user
interface. It is a member of the 2007 Microsoft Office system.

Ms Access allows relatively quick development
Access allows relatively quick development because all database
tables, queries, forms, and reports are stored in the database. For
query development, Access utilizes the Query Design Grid, a
graphical user interface that allows users to create queries such as
the SQL programming language. In the Query Design Grid, users can
"show" the source tables of the query and select the fields they
want returned by clicking and dragging them into the grid. Joins can
be created by clicking and dragging fields in tables to fields in
other tables. Access allows users to view and manipulate the SQL
code if desired.
