Create VPME LookUp Parameter Creating your own pick list

The idea is to minimize the work and have fun when creating reports while working with VisualRep. If you created a lookup definition using the VPME 9.0 or VPME9,1 data dictionary or using xCase while working with xCase2VPM then you are in luck. VisualRep will grab the lookup definition out of the VPME 9.0 data dictionary and will create the cursor automatically for you whether it is a view or a table. The parameter for the query will be created automatically for you as well and all you need is to choose this parameter into the query filter and you are set. VisualRep will grab also lookup data from a list created under the Integrity and the SET option. That option is used to generate a list into a combo box as well. If you need a pick list only for the report purpose you may create your own Pick List within VisualRep and attach it into a parameter. VisualRep also creates report from views.

Create Reports and Queries Automatically from the VPME 9.0 and VPME 9.1
Now also working with new VPME 9.1 version and creates reports and queries as any other client server.

Create Reports and Queries from parameterized view.
Now you can use your current views as data source for reports. Just select the view and let VisualRep generate the report for you.

VisualRep will extract all parameters found in the parameterized view and will add those parameters within VisualRep. When you run the report or query all of those parameters found will be shown in the VisualRep parameters' form. It is similar like the FIND form but within a grid. The user can also create a lookup for each field and all is automated. The parameterized view could be either local or remote. This feature is also available for the DBCX data dictionary and and Visual FoxPro DBC. You can mix views with tables and also add your own parameters. If you change the DBC that has the local views to a DBC with remote views VisualRep will find that DBC and will run the Remote view instead. The idea here is to reuse your parameterized view that was created for a form, and instead of re-creating the entire SQL from scratch just select the view and choose the fields you need and you are done. With Views any client server can be used without any limitation. This is a major time saver.

Fully Configurable
The VPM security feature in VisualRep can be enabled or disabled in the configuration form. Any feature in the configuration form can be also manipulated programmatically.

VPM Security
VisualRep utilizes all the functionality of the VPM/VPME Security module. This includes Fields level security to control whether a report can be run if it will display sensitive information which the user may not be authorized to see.

Additional benefits for the VPME users.
VisualRep can identify what version of VPM is currently running. It can recognize on the fly the VPM VPME6, VPME7 and VPME8, VPME9, and VPME9.1 versions and no need for any setup procedures form the developer. The same applies when VisualRep is called from an application complied and using the VPM/VPME framework.

Create an Automatic lookup using the VPME 9.0 data dictionary.

What Multilingual in VisualRep means to you
With multilingual VisualRep, your reports and queries can run in more than one language with no programming required by you. Clearly, VisualRep is now the premier query and reporting tool for Visual ProMatrix and Visual FoxPro.

Application users can change languages on the fly.
Each application user can run reports and queries in her own language.
VisualRep even handles languages written from right to left (Hebrew, Arabic, etc.). VisualRep handles double-byte languages.

Free Portuguese, German, Romanian Dutch, Indonesian and Spanish translations are included for standard text provided by Visual ProMatrix and VisualRep. Additional free language translations will be provided later. You can, of course, enter your own translations for any language and any text.

Changing a language in Visual ProMatrix will automatically change the language used for VisualRep reports and queries. You can easily implement the same functionality in any Visual FoxPro application.

Multilingual Manager: VisualRep's Multilingual Manager is a user-friendly interface that allows you to easily set up and manage the languages your reports and queries will use.
