I started to develop custom software in 1985 while using dBase III from Aston Tate. From there I moved to FoxBase and FoxPro and ended up working with Visual FoxPro until Microsoft stopped supporting it. In 1992, I founded the “The Farber Consulting Group Inc.” (FCG) which has been continually in business since. With Visual FoxPro, I developed a commercial application of my own, known as “VisualRep” which is a Report and Query Engine, and was sold all over the world.
Years ago, I moved to Dot Net and was introduced to Alpha AnyWhere (formerly known as Alpha Five) in 2011. This quickly became one of the main tools we use when providing custom software development solutions. A highlighted project developed by The Farber Consulting Group Inc. that utilized Alpha AnyWhere was for the Avis Car Rental Company. This was a contract manager application, used in Northern New Jersey USA by over 30 locations.
Additionally, in 2006, I started working with the MS SQL database engine as the back-end of our firm’s custom software application solutions. We are also experts at data transformation and data cleansing with Terabytes of tables while using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
We also specialize in database administrator services, such as: a Remote DBA or on-site, as preferred by the client while using MS SQL and MySQL.
These days there is a major demand to convert access to web solutions and we start by converting first the MS Access into MS SQL or a MySQL database engine.
In some ways, we’ve become a custom mySQL development company just as much as we are a custom software development company. This is necessary because you need your database to perform up to the standards of your custom software. Otherwise, the system may run slower than it should.
Our team is very skilled with the Dot Net Development engine and have successfully completed many projects, including a screen scrapping system which grabs pricing, inventory, descriptions, etc from distributors in order to resell as efficiently as possible to retail customers.
We have developed many accounting applications for a variety of purposes, a highlighted example, is a major payroll program for school districts. We are in the process of developing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) program and converting that application from a desktop-based solution into a web-based solution.
FCG has been in business for over 27 years and has completed complex, custom based solutions for a variety of clients, both small, and multi-international. Some of our clients include Johnson & Johnson, Avis Car Rental Company, Dassault Aviation, Law Office of Jeffrey B. Peltz for 25 years already, etc.
The founder, Doron Farber, has a degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA in Management Information Systems.
